It's time I came clean, America. For too long I've remained silent about my shortcomings as a journalist. As a reporter, you readers invest your trust in me, and I have betrayed that trust. Never in my two and a half months of my news career have I felt as ashamed as I do now. I have failed not only you, but myself. The regret I feel is immense, and I know that there's nothing I can do to undo the damage I've done. Truly, this day marks a dark chapter of my life, one that I hope to put to rest as soon as possible.
