Discouraging: Gary has still not been elected president despite my letters to my senator
Discouraging news coming from Washington, yet again. As of last night, Gary has still not been installed as our president, even in the face of the hundreds of letters I've been mailing to my local senator. Even worse, the few replies I have received have developed a very hostile tone as you'll see in the transcript below:
November 9th
"Hello,
I believe you may have sent this to me by accident. There is not an Al Franken at this address, nor has there ever been, as far as I know. I'm writing you this letter, as well as the original message I received, in the hopes that your words reach the person you're looking for.

November 13th
"Hello,
It seems there's been some kind of miscommunication between us. I am not Al Franken, nor do I know him. I implore you to double check the address before sending anymore letters. I have once again enclosed your several letters, because I genuinely hope they reach the rightful addressee.

November 15th
"Do you not understand what I'm saying? AL FRANKEN DOESN'T LIVE HERE. I have tried to be courteous to you until this point, but my patience has its limits. I have made it abundantly clear that you have the wrong address, and yet you persist in sending me these long rants about politics. I am asking you one last time, please do not send me any more letters. Otherwise, I will be forced to contact the authorities.

November 16th
"What the hell is wrong with you? Do you enjoy this? Do you feel happy harassing me with your goddamn letters? I'm done trying to be nice. Clearly, you do not respond to politeness, so I have given up on trying to send back your messages. I don't even open them anymore. I don't want to give you the satisfaction of an audience. Every letter I've received since my last reply has gone in the fireplace. I don't want to have to call the cops, but I feel that it's the only way to end this nightmare.
